There is a real density to Ador or Entropy, the new release from Galician artist Miguel Prado’s project Nzʉmbe. The record, which is the first from the artist since 2015, is an electro-acoustic song cycle that throws together romantic, tortured singing—executed in Prado’s mother tongue—with grueling electronic textures. Clearly, a lot of care went into crafting sounds this mangled. When combined with Prado’s vocals, the sonics make the record move with a certain narrative logic, one felt beyond the contours of language—one that seems to reflect, however obliquely, the mindstate of the world at the moment. Listen to the record, and check out the premiere of the music video for 'Mirror of Tauromachy' below.
