Progidy is a new project from one-half of the Brooklyn-via-LA duo The Dallas Cowboys and the indie pop artist Peachole. Their debut single’s combination of drum machines and fuzzy guitars recall 2000s noise pop greats like Japanther and The Death Set, two names that have not been bandied about all that much over at Nina Editorial. But maybe that’s going to change? With its lo-fi sing-song vocals, the song is not not twee. More than anything, this band would’ve been perfect for a Todd P show in the basement of an unlicensed Bushwick bar in 2007. The beat goes on.
