Countach is the new moniker of the producer Zachary Fairbrother, who some heads might know as a former member of the digital hardcore duo GHÖSH. That band was known for their gonzo juggalo-meets-rave aesthetic, and Fairbrother’s debut mixtape under the new name isn’t a full departure from that sensibility. It’s a joyride through styles: electronica, breakcore, footwork, and beyond. I’m especially rocking with the tracks that have a sort of Chemical Brothers-style breakbeat lean to them. “Orbitz and Vodka” is one highlight in that department. Put it on while you play some PS1.
