Pacific Northwest artist Aygey rocks with his own specific brand of post-genre music. On the surface, Baltimore club and black metal might not have that much in common, but there’s something in Aygey’s deep-wooded delivery and production style that seems to glue together these disparate elements into a cohesive aesthetic. “In It, Not of It” is a meditation on a liminal state of being that in some way mirrors Ayegy’s music itself. The song combines folk, post-punk, and electro into a pulsating, haunted tune. Is this the true meaning of witch house?
